BEST stands for Boosting Engineering Science and Technology.
BEST robotics is a national competition in which teams are given all the materials
they are allowed to use, and must create a robot from these limited resources that
can withstand the bumps and jostles of high school robotics life. Over the 6-week
build period, teams must call on their own ingenuity to use ordianry materials,
such as plywood and pvc, to perform a specific task.
Our team has participated in the competition since 2006, but is already beginning to
shine. In the 2007 Capitol-BEST competition, a mock-up of Mars rovers transporting
ship supplies, the ausTIN CANs managed to achieve the second highest overall score,
allowing us to proceed to the Texas BEST regionals in Lubbock.
